The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for leading a team designing, managing, and maintaining multiple environment infrastructure and act as the *nix SME.  The position is a demanding, high-energy position requiring innovative solutions to network, hardware, and software problems. This role will be a member of an architecture committee and work with engineering leads to install, maintain, and design the physical and virtual infrastructure of multiple environments.  This role must have strong problem-solving skills, leadership skills, and desire to continuously innovate.

• Devises and implements methods and procedures for the monitoring, controls and evaluation of quality systems.
• Provides technical quality and regulatory support, as needed.
• Monitors and analyzes quality systems and regulatory compliance data to identify positive and adverse trends in order to enhance the suitability, efficiency and effectiveness of the quality systems.
• Discovers, plans, and implements new projects with minimal technical guidance.
• Responsible for minor mentoring of other Systems Administrator staff and Network Operations Center staff personnel.

• BS in Computer Science or related field with major course work in the IT Technology field.
• 6-10 years’ experience in Computer Science or related field.
• Significant experience, 8-10 years, with Linux systems, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrates ability to lead teams, as required. Maintains quality systems inspection readiness.
• Demonstrates the ability to assist in the definition and creation of systems and network monitoring tools.
• Possess’ superior knowledge of problem solving tools, and demonstrates ability to apply these skills toward the formulation and deployment of effective corrective action.
• Demonstrates the ability to think both strategically and tactically.
• Understands the linkages and relationships between individual quality subsystems.
• Demonstrates the ability to formulate and propose strategic quality systems direction to management, and implement tactical quality plans, as directed.
• Develops solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity where erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results could have a significant adverse effect on product, process or the quality systems.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience with a multi-site network configuration.

• Demonstrates and maintains flexibility and adapts to changes within industry and company.
• Knowledgeable in technology, horse racing, pari-mutuel wagering, gaming, sports wagering and/or experience in a start-up environment is a plus.

Preferred Experience and/or Education:

• Applicable Certification preferred
• Master’s degree or equivalent
